Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST(GZ)) is the first legally-independent educational institution co-established by the Mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and the “Overall Plan for Deepening Globally Oriented Comprehensive Co-operation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Nansha of Guangzhou.” With a spirit of pioneering innovation, HKUST(GZ) charts new territories in cross-disciplinary education and explores new frontiers in pedagogies, aiming to serve as a role model of the mainland-Hong Kong integrated educational development and become a world-famous high-level university, endeavoring to nurture future-oriented, high-level and innovative talents.
HKUST(GZ) comprises four Hubs, namely Function Hub, Information Hub, Systems Hub, and Society Hub, and offers 15 postgraduate degrees. The admission of undergraduate students will begin in 2023, with the first batch of programs covering artificial intelligence, data science and big data technology, and smart manufacturing.

Duties 工作职责
HKUST(GZ) is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Vice-President for Student Affairs (VPSA). As part of the senior leadership team, major areas of responsibilities of the VPSA include but are not limited to:
香港科技大学(广州)现诚聘学生事务副校长一职。作为高级领导团队的一员，学生事务副校长的主要职责包括但不限于：
1. Providing overall leadership and coordination of student related affairs in the university, such as management of study life of students, mental health of students, student employment management, Hong Kong, Macao and *** student affairs, overseas student affairs, and in other fields related to student affairs；
2. Responsible for the planning and the construction of the University's academy and the related student life education, working closely with both inside and outside the University and the community, leading the construction of extracurricular activities and extracurricular systems for students, coordinating students’ recreational and physical training and competitions, and playing a leadership role in the students’ overall development and students’ experience of diverse campus；
3. Responsible for the construction of the student support and service system, and the operation of various services related to students' benefits;
4. Responsible for student exchanges and visits with HKUST and other universities at home and abroad;
5. Serving as one of the senior management team members of the University, to advance the overall well-being and to address any challenges and risks faced by the University.
1. 全面领导和统筹学校学生事务相关工作，在学生日常管理、学生心理健康、学生就业、港澳台学生事务、留学生事务等领域提供专业的指导和监督；
2. 负责统筹和领导学校书院规划建设及与之相关的学生生活教育，与校内外及社会各界密切合作，领导学生课外活动及课外体系的构建，统筹领导学生文体训练与竞赛工作，在学生全面发展方面及多元化校园体验方面发挥领导作用；
3. 负责领导学校学生支持和服务体系的搭建，监督与学生福祉相关的各项服务工作的运行；
4. 负责领导与香港科技大学及国内外其他院校间的学生交流访问等相关事务，为学生交流提供支持；
5. 作为学校高级管理者，与管理团队共同推动香港科技大学（广州）的各项事业发展，并应对学校发展面临的任何挑战和风险。

The candidates of VPSA are expected to be visionary, energetic, responsible, virtuous, decent, open-minded, able to provide strong support for the realization of the University's goals in student training and lead the University to a higher level together with the University’s senior management team. Those with the following characteristics or experience are given priority:
申请人应富有远见、有活力、有担当，品行端正，作风正派，胸襟开阔，能够为学校的学生培养目标实现提供有力支撑并与学校管理团队一同带领大学的各项事业更上一层楼。有下列特质或经验者会优先考虑：
1. Possess rich experience in student management of university；
2. Obtain doctoral degree and good academic background；
3. Be well acquainted with the management and operation of higher education in Chinese mainland, and have a good international vision；
4. Possess excellent communication skills, ability to communicate with students with different cultural backgrounds;
5. Be familiar with the policies, characteristics and methods of students’ affairs in Hong Kong and Chinese mainland; be adept at exploiting the resource advantages of both Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, especially the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area;
6. Possess successful experience in equivalent positions at domestic or overseas universities, or study, research, and work experience in Hong Kong.

6. 有海内外院校担任同等职位的成功经验或有香港学习、研究及工作经验。
This is an appointment in Chinese mainland. The appointee will be provided with a contract by the HKUST(GZ), which is a Chinese mainland entity, in accordance with the labor laws and regulations of the Chinese mainland.Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
